William Thomas Hudson was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on December 2, 1941 and passed away on April 15 in Tybee Island, Georgia.
The son of Thomas Ruel Hudson and Jane Jones Hudson, he was the eldest of two children. Tom graduated from Lyons High school in 1959 and was an Eagle Scout. He was a decorated veteran and received a Purple Heart while in service. After his tours of duty, he graduated from the University of Georgia in June of 1968 and went on to work as an insurance adjuster. He graduated from John Marshall Law School in June of 1976.
An esteemed attorney, Tom practiced for many years in Savannah, Georgia. He served as the Judge Advocate for the Tybee Island American Legion Post 154. Tom's quick wit and even temperament always put people at ease. He was always eager to serve others with a kind smile and a beer in his hand. He was known as a gentleman and was very well respected. He enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs and loved spending time with his dog, Buddy, who has been rehomed to an amazing family and his cat Cujo.
Tom is survived by his first wife, Renee Hudson Harp, of Vidalia, Georgia; one daughter, Leigh Hudson Conner (John) of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, William Todd Hudson of Barnesville, Georgia, and Wesley Thomas Hudson (Brandy) of Savannah, Georgia; a step daughter, Louise Padron (Mike) of Green Bay, Wisconsin; beloved companion, Sissy Levy of Tybee Island, Georgia; and his lifelong friend, Jimmy Branch of Vidalia, Georgia and best friend, Jack Burgess of Tybee Island, Georgia. He is survived by four grandchildren: Wesley Hudson, Keirstin Hudson, Kathryn Conner, and Caroline Conner; and three step grandchildren, Maya Wallenfang, Garrett Flanagan and Evie Brady.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Luann Roberts, of Goldsboro, North Carolina: his parents, Thomas Ruel Hudson, of Douglasville, Georgia and Eugenia Jane Jones of Folkston, Georgia; and a sister, Linda Hudson Neuhaus, of Lyons Georgia.
A celebration of life will be held at the Tybee Island American Legion Post 154 on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Guests can bring side dishes/dessert and drop off food will be 4:00 p.m. Dinner will start at 5:00 p.m. and all guests are encouraged to where Georgia Bulldog colors.

It is my sincerest condolences. Tom was, without a doubt, the most mild-mannered and gracious attorney I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He carried a kind and warm spirit that set him apart. He was a true gentleman who will truly be missed. I had the best time when I was office mates with him and Luann.

I don't believe there was a more humble, compassionate and sincere member of the Savannah legal community. He will be missed by many. Tom had a rare ability to truly listen, understand, and advocate not just with skill, but with his heart. His impact extended far beyond the courtroom, touching the lives of colleagues, clients, and friends in meaningful and lasting ways. Tom's legacy of integrity, compassion, and service continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing them.
